My system is WIN98, and I often use the notepad that comes with WIN98 to make some simple web page modifications. But after I reinstalled WIN98, the system always reports: "Out of memory. Cannot complete the operation. Please close one or more applications to increase available memory, then try again." But it was okay before. I also know that the notepad of WIN98 cannot handle things exceeding 64K. But I'm just copying and pasting some very short codes. Why can't it be used? How should I make it usable? Thank you, great experts!!!!!!!!!!

1. The available space on drive C is too small.
2. The virtual memory settings are incorrect.
3. The CMOS settings are incorrect.
4. Check the system resource situation.
5. Use an antivirus software to scan for viruses; it seems the Nimda virus is this kind of phenomenon.

Oh, I've seen the几条 you mentioned. My computer only has drive A using MS-DOS compatible mode; the available space on drive C is 6.74GB; the virtual memory is set automatically by WINDOWS; there's 70% system resources available; I've used the latest version of Rising antivirus to scan, and there are no viruses; I don't know much about CMOS settings, specifically which settings need to be used? Thanks~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Just restore the CMOS settings to optimized defaults. My system is also WIN98se. I've never had this kind of problem. I think it should be related to software compatibility. Are you using Rising 2004? Its compatibility seems to have serious problems. I can't remember the specific details. You can check it on the Rising website forum by yourself.

Is this happening right after installing WIN98, or does it appear later?

It's like this after installation. What on earth should I do? I've thought of all the ways I can think of, but it still doesn't work.

You say it's out of memory? I'm using KINGSTONG DDR 256M 266MHZ. Other programs don't say out of memory. Why can't Notepad be used? I'm really confused.

Hehe... I'm even more confused than you! Like a dog biting a hedgehog^_^, did you not restart after uninstalling Rising? Restart and then try again, then use scanreg/fix in DOS to see if it works. Also, can't you use the WordPad either?

Sister??? Indeed, I'm confused. I'm male. I'm talking about the WordPad in Windows 98. QQ has long been thrown away!

I can use the WordPad, but I need to drag the web page into Notepad to modify it. WordPad can't directly drag it in. It's GG, you hurry up and tell me how to do it. I did SCANREG/FIX as you said, but it still doesn't work.
