For an industrial control board, it's still better to use a DOM or DOC.

Motherboards with USB are very expensive, while there are many industrial PCs that support CF cards. It would be better to use a CF-to-IDE adapter to exchange data.

USB flash drives really are good stuff, strongly supported. There's USB flash drive driver code on the site; didn't you find it?
