A tool that can directly extract IMG image files. I don't want to keep using HD-COPY to unpack them, it's too hard on floppies.

But img.exe can virtualize memory as drive A.

The software tools for extracting img files are different, because the compression formats inside the img files are different, and some are incompatible,

1。lxd can be used to mount img files created by hd23 as a virtual floppy. If the img file was created with hd30, you can use hd23 to read it and then generate a new img file again; this new img file can be used by lxd. There also seems to be something similar called Fakedisk
2。eim is an img file extraction tool with an interactive interface, mainly aimed at img files edited with hd23. For example, undisk can do it too
3。hd30 is used to generate standard-format img files. It will give errors when reading non-standard files created by hd23. But files created by hd30 can be recognized by winimg.
hd23 is used to generate compressed-format img files (non-standard format), and it can read img files created by hd30. But the non-standard img files it creates cannot be recognized by either hd30 or winimg, though they can be used by lxd.
