There are quite a few MIDI players under DOS. Among them, the 4 types I use most often are CDP, OpenCP, MidPlay, and Megamid. Although the playback effects are all very good, there are still some differences. Now, I will briefly arrange their playback effects (such as timbre, etc.):
Generally speaking, the timbres of MidPlay and MegaMid are the best, followed by OpenCP and CDP. But sometimes it's not like this. For example, when playing some MIDI songs, the effect of OpenCP is better than that of Megamid. You might as well also talk about your feelings about the MIDI players you use. |

In the second issue of the supporting CD of Computer Times, there is a DOS playback software called CP, which supports soft wave tables and has a good effect when playing MIDI.

Because that CD-ROM couldn't be found, so I'm not sure if it's OpenCP. I remember the executable file is CP.EXE.

The executable file of OpenCP is exactly CP.EXE. However, the one in Computer Weekly is probably a very old version of OpenCP.
