Bump it myself. My machine has no floppy drive, but can boot from USB flash drive. I want to use a mobile hard disk under DOS. Is there any expert to help? There are so many experts, it must be able to be solved.

As long as there are drivers, it's okay. You can try the drivers in the download area...

DUSE can be tried by someone. You can search for previous posts. There is a certain difficulty in driving USB devices under DOS because Microsoft had already stopped developing DOS long before USB came out.

I tried these drivers, but they didn't work. The drivers that I tried on someone else's machine with a floppy drive could drive USB flash drives and external hard drives. But on machines without a floppy drive, maybe everyone oversimplified. The crux of the problem is (in my opinion) that the system itself can load the USB flash drive (default is the C drive). But after loading duse in config.sys, it searches all USB devices. As a result, it also finds the USB flash drive and reloads it, and then the system can't find the original USB flash drive and gets stuck there.

Experts, come on! I think this is a relatively important issue. Because almost no new machines are equipped with floppy drives now. So it's necessary to find a method to boot from a USB flash drive and drive a mobile hard disk. Come on, guys.

I have the same problem. It's the same with USBASPI.SYS.

Have you ever tried to first simulate a floppy drive boot with a USB flash drive, and then load the USB driver? It is recommended to use Panasonic's USB driver, which can also drive a USB floppy drive!

If the USB flash drive simulates floppy drive boot, it is estimated that it can, but my USB flash drive cannot simulate floppy drive, only can boot in USB-ZIP or USB-HDD mode.

Nowadays, most motherboards that support USB booting use USB HDD boot, which is different from the USB floppy drive. The USB floppy drive refers to an external floppy drive with a USB interface. If you use a USB flash drive and select this option to boot, it won't work.

Sure, I have succeeded. After booting with the super startup disk, load duse.
