At present I have already successfully modified the Windows Me operating system
so that it can start the WindowsME GUI under DOS mode

But I still can't use a boot disk to start the WindowsME GUI

During startup the following error messages appear:

Registry File was not found .
Registry Services May be inoperative for this Session.
XMS Cache Problem.
Registry Services May be inoperative for this Session.
System haulted.

Right after that, the computer hangs...

How should I modify the boot disk's config.sys autoexec.exe
to add the WindowsME Registry File

I sincerely ask the moderator and all experts... to kindly give me some advice
If you can clear up my confusion one by one, I would be infinitely grateful
Thank you!!

"Registry File was not found" has nothing to do with the CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files. Please pay attention to the winbootdir setting in MSDOS.SYS.

You only need to format the floppy in Me, then copy c:\io.sys to the floppy.

The following is quoted from dos时代菜鸟 on 2004-1-12 22:17:43:

That alone may not work. In this situation, if WinME is installed under the C:\WINDOWS folder it may work; otherwise it definitely won't.
