I've run into the same problem too. Are USB drivers under DOS related to the motherboard? My motherboard is SOLTEK SL-85ERV.

The following is quoted from shenlan's post at 2003-12-23 20:27:26:
Using USB devices under DOS is very troublesome, because different USB devices need different drivers, and it may even vary with different motherboards. I can use MOS71 to boot a USB flash drive, but I just still can't boot a USB hard drive. You can try a few USB drivers selectively and see which one supports your device; this can't be generalized. It took me a long time to figure it out back then. Now I use a WINPE CD, which completely solves the USB device support problem.

Hello, thanks. About WINPE, I'd like to know a bit more detail. Thanks in advance.

A question: my computer uses the SiS chipset, sis740+sis962, and supports USB 2.0. I used mdos71bd and chose option 3 or 4 to boot the computer, hoping to use my USB card reader (8M CF card) under DOS, and also my 32M Netac USB flash drive, but I couldn't get it to work. Also, my mouse and keyboard stopped working, and the system stopped responding. In addition, both my mouse and keyboard use USB interfaces. If I choose 1 or 2 at startup, my mouse and keyboard can still be used under DOS.

One more question: can my CF card or USB flash drive (Netac encrypted type) be made into a DOS boot disk for the computer?
