Under DOS, I'm using the serial port to transfer files between two 586 machines, using tc20, with the function int86(0x14,&reg,&reg). The serial port uses only three wires, and the other signal lines are not handled, but it cannot connect. LapLink 3.0 works normally. I'd like to ask everyone: when programming with the int14 interrupt, is a three-wire serial connection not workable? How should a three-wire serial connection be programmed (under DOS)? I don't really understand it well, just thinking out loud: during (handshaking? flow control) there are hardware methods and software methods. The hardware method needs several lines in addition to the three wires; the software method sends a few special characters to achieve it. What I do know for sure is that PC serial port - PC serial port does not need power stealing.
