Under DOS, generally speaking, NTFS partitions are not recognized automatically. So in your case, 1:1 is drive C, 1:2 disappears and is not assigned a drive letter. Then 2:1 is drive D, 2:2 is drive E, and 2:3 is drive F.
If you set hard disk 2 as the primary hard disk and 1 as the secondary hard disk, then 2:1 is drive C, 1:1 is drive D, 2:2 is drive E, and 2:3 is drive F.
In other words, primary partitions come first. It is the same under 98.
I haven’t thought much about the second question, not sure.
