Little brother, the drive letter configuration of the computer is as follows:
A: floppy disk
C~J: hard disk
K~L: CD-ROM (non-USB)
M: USB hard disk

USB devices only have M: USB hard disk

May I ask
How should the running parameters of DUSE be set?

Should the DEVICE=DUSE.EXE ???? in config.sys be added with which running parameters
to be able to normally drive the M: USB hard disk without crashing

I don't understand this either. I used duse and it didn't work. Loading directly under DOS: duseldr \duse.exe. The system found my hard drive, but it just stops at that step and freezes. Is there any way to solve this, moderator? My hard drive is a laptop hard drive from IBM, and the adapter card is also from IBM. I think this should be able to be driven, but I don't know how to set it up. Please give me more advice, thank you.

Maybe it's an issue with your computer.
The same USB hard drive and DOS boot disk,
Tested on three computers, two work, one doesn't,
The one that doesn't work is mine. 8(

Try the latest version 4.9 of DUSE, the compatibility should be better, just don't add "left" after EMM386.
