Microsoft: No plans to produce Linux operating system products

　　On December 10, the world's largest software maker Microsoft clarified to the outside world that, regarding a research report by market research firm META Group claiming that Microsoft would produce products suited to the Linux operating system in response to the market's growing acceptance of Linux, Microsoft said it currently has no such plans.
　　
　　According to a Chinabyte report: the report predicted that, as Linux becomes more popular, Microsoft would begin developing products suited to the Linux operating system by the end of 2004, and would eventually develop Linux-system email and data server products. The group also predicted that, as a major strategic shift, Microsoft would launch Linux open-source operating system-based software and server software for Web services in 2004.
　　
　　Microsoft's chief financial officer said earlier this month that if Linux entered the Table PC field, it would hurt Microsoft's increasingly strong future performance.
