First case:
A question!!! Why can't XP install patches properly??
I downloaded the Windows XP SP1 installer -WindowsXP-KB826939-x86-CHS-, it's the Chinese edition
Partway through installation, a window pops up saying:
"The installer cannot update your Windows xp files because the language installed on your system is different from the language of the update."
Then the installer stops and cannot complete the upgrade.
So you tell me, the system says "because the language installed on your system is different from the language of the update.",
but the language installed on my system is Chinese, and the update language is also Chinese, so why does it still give this message?
Second case:
My system is 2000. Our server can install the patch but ours can't. We are on a LAN, and all the systems were installed from the same disc. But I know it can be installed in Safe Mode, though that doesn't seem to work, and installing Office always gives errors
