It will definitely cause problems! When the BIOS was designed, it always assumed the CPU was being fully restarted, in real mode, and that important registers were in known states; but when your program jumps directly to FFFF0h, the above assumptions are not guaranteed! The system may be in protected mode, interrupts may be enabled, and a whole series of potential problems could cause the system to hang! [email protected]
