My computer used to have a dual-boot setup, WIN98 and WINXP. One time after it crashed, I could no longer get into WINXP. Every time I choose to boot WINXP it hangs (black screen, with a cursor in the upper left corner). I checked and there are no bad sectors or viruses. I repartitioned it and still couldn't install it. Right now I install WIN98 first, then upgrade to WIN2K (WINXP) from within WIN98, but that still doesn't work. It's the same: it only copies the setup files, and after restarting it hangs. There's simply no way to finish the installation. Is there any solution? Thanks!

Format the XP system partition, then do a clean install under DOS. There shouldn't be any problem.
