I’d like to ask everyone: after booting with DOS 7.1, what version information should the VER command display? For example, the old 6.22 would display MS-DOS 6.22.

With a genuine MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk or the full installation edition of MS-DOS 7.10, the VER command will naturally display MS-DOS 7.10.

But after I installed the DOS710 from this site, it shows WINDOWS 98 instead?
Also: I want to install Japanese DOS, but after loading FONT.SYS and DISP.SYS I still can’t get it to work successfully. Why is that?

The following is quoted from 铃木信吉 on 2003-11-28 12:43:01:
But after I installed the DOS710 from this site, it shows WINDOWS 98?

That’s absolutely impossible, right? Where did you download it from? I’ve tested it myself countless times already.

Could it be that there was some mistaken operation during the installation process that caused this situation?

Please take a look at these screenshots below. This is what it looks like when the full edition of MS-DOS 7.10 has just been installed to the hard disk and booted:

If what is displayed on your system is different, then that means you are using another different DOS, or MS-DOS 7.10 was not installed successfully. Try downloading and installing the “full installation edition of MS-DOS 7.10” here:

Many thanks, WENGIER, but I still have another question: loading the Japanese FONT and DISP does not work successfully. Is there any way to solve it? I suspect some file is missing
