I dragged out an old machine the day before yesterday, then went to "New Era" and downloaded MS DOS 7.1 + Windows 3.2. The graphics card (i740) installed successfully, and the display is normal at 800×600×32k, but the display refresh rate seems too low, it hurts the eyes! For the moment I’m at a loss. So I’d like to ask you all: under Windows 3.2, can the refresh rate be adjusted? If so, how should I start?

BTW: I still haven’t sorted out the sound card and network card drivers. I wonder if anyone can recommend some old driver download websites.

Why is nobody answering me! Where did the moderator go!!!

Hehe, but--
the display problem has already been solved. I found the sound card driver on the manufacturer's homepage too, everything is OK. ^_^

Now only the network card problem is left. My network card was pulled from a Legend-brand machine, 530TX. Legend simply does not provide a DOS driver! MMD!!! Later I downloaded the VT6102 driver package from VIA, lots of stuff in there -- but I still didn't see Win3.x/DOS! Though I did find a pktdrvr in the package, I still don't know how to get it working, or whether it can be made to work at all. :(

Let me bump this for you. I don't really know what you're asking, hehe

Like what card you have (TYPE, MODEL, SPEED)? And what kind of machine specs you're running on~~

Many thanks, brother, for generously "bumping" this for me!

My machine is an AST. Back in the day it was a very famous brand-name PC. It was repaired twice (graphics card problems), then honorably retired at the end of the last century. Recently I invited the old gentleman out from the corner of the storage room to put out a bit more heat. Since quite a few of its earlier parts had problems, I replaced some of them. Its current specs are as follows: P133 CPU, unknown-brand (model) motherboard, 16M unknown-brand RAM, 514M Seagate hard drive, i740 graphics card (4M video memory), crystal sound card (the card has 4232 written on it), Lenovo DFE530 TX network card, plus a somewhat eye-straining 14" color monitor (original AST part), a miscellaneous no-name keyboard, and an old Macro PS/2 mouse (the kind that came with laptops, tiny, and it’s already not very responsive anymore :( ).

Right now, MS DOS 7.1 + Windows 3.2 has already been installed. The graphics card installed successfully, the sound card has a small problem, but there is still sound in Windows 3.2 (it just doesn’t sound very good). The network card gives no error using the VIA6102 packet driver, Acarhne gets online normally, but Lynx always fails to get online! It has already failed countless times!! Also, I still haven’t found a network card driver for Windows 3.2.

After saying so much, first, I wanted to show off a little ^_^, second, I wanted to share the joy of success with everyone, and third, I’d still like to ask some expert here to help solve the problem of getting Lynx or Windows 3.2 online. If any more information is needed, please leave a reply and say so. Thanks in advance, thank you, thank you, and thanks to any expert who can help.

Brother, your 530TX network card is a very famous device. Go to the D-Link website and you'll understand as soon as you see it. Don't keep clinging to the Lenovo brand.

Thanks a lot for the tip, brother!
But I’ve already been to D-Link. Not just there. I even went to VIA too (software detection showed it’s compatible with VIA VT6102). There are tons of drivers, all the MS series from XP down to 95, and DOS too, but I still didn’t see anything for Windows 3.2~~

:(

Windows 3.1/3.2 does not have separate network card drivers. It’s the same no matter what network card it is, so if you want to use one, then use a DOS driver + the WINPKT conversion program, or use Windows for Workgroups 3.11, which supports network card drivers.

Oh! So that's how it is~~

Brother, what do you mean? What’s there to congratulate me on?
