SET BLASTER=A220 I7 D1 H5 P330 T7? This probably shouldn't be added manually by yourself. It should be installed and configured by the sound card driver itself, and it will automatically add this entry. If you add it first, it may instead cause an error. For example, your sound card may not be using
IRQ7 and DMA1, so delete this line first and then try installing again. |

This driver is the same one used by my SB PCI 128 sound card. You really do need to manually set the SBPCI and BLASTER environment variables, and then load the SBINIT.COM driver program.

I've tried it both with and without setting BLASTER, so that probably isn't the problem. As for my sound card, on the motherboard it shows 5, but under Win98 in DOS it should be using 7. I've set both of them, but it was no use. Wengier: For the SBPCI setting, is it the same as in that old post of yours? But it seems the files in the archive I extracted are a bit different from what you wrote there. set SBPCI=c:\sb16 What files are needed in sb16? I tried putting the files from the archive into it, but it still didn't work. |

Please run the SBESET.exe file in pure DOS mode and check its settings. I just successfully configured it. Also, your T=7? That doesn't seem right.

I just left out one sentence: you should first run SBECFG.exe under pure DOS and check its settings, then manually configure it in SBESET.exe. Then reboot. That should do it.
