I have an old computer, and because the hard drive had problems, I wanted to get rough with it using DM. I have a backup hard drive of the same model; after connecting it as the master drive, I started DM. As a result, DM detected that I had three hard drives, but in fact I only have these two. They were displayed as follows
: ST34311A (PRIMARY) 4.318G CYLINDERS was 525
ST34311A (SECONDARY) 4.318G CYLINDERS was 526
4.326 GB (PRIMARY) 4.326G CYLINDERS was 526
Also, the heads were all 255 and the sectors were all 63. My hard drives were connected to primary slave and second master respectively.
I was quite confused for a while and didn't know which drive I should operate on. After thinking it over I chose the secondary drive, and the facts proved that was correct, but I still don't really understand why it showed three hard drives. And why were the first two different sizes? Why did the third one have no hard drive model, only a size—what does that mean?

Sorry, I got one of the numbers wrong earlier. The size of SE34311A (SECONDARY) should be 4.326, not 4.318.

DM is rather dangerous; if you're not careful it can cause big problems. I don't recommend using it. SPfdisk is better.
