Is there a CD that can run an operating system directly from the CD!
For example, a CMOS boot CD, with win98 installed on the CD, so that the CD can run WIN98. Basically treating the CD as a hard disk. I heard WIN PE can do this, is it true?

My mini98 can already run completely from the CD, and it doesn't use virtual memory. Too bad the problem of writing to drive A during startup still hasn't been solved.. In other words, using a real A drive or booting with an img file both work fine. But once it's made into ISO booting, it won't work.. Hehe~~~~~~~I'm trying to figure out a solution now.. Do you guys have any good suggestions?

Just use the Fenghuang boot disk
It has winpe in it, which can boot the prototype version of winxp

It can be done on a CD, but it just can't do multi-boot, so it's useless,

That's WINPE. It's not called some prototype version.

Rushi, I took a look at your problem today and already helped you solve it. I modified your boot IMG file a bit and am uploading it now. Just replace your original file with the bootimage.img file in the archive below.
The full ISO CD image file will be uploaded later.

I'm busy with exams right now, so I don't have time to look through your whole ISO. I only made a rough modification even to the bootimage. You'll have to optimize the rest yourself.
Also, your iso has a virus, and there are also some problems with font initialization when mini98 starts up (I tested it in vpc). You'll have to sort that out yourself.

Making the img file into a CD boot still doesn't work.. It no longer reads drive A, but it still can't boot

I can solve your problem!!!
LOOK:
Use MEMDISK in BS. That can solve your unwritable A drive problem!
Just like using a real floppy drive!!!
