What is smartdrv.exe used for?
Why is it that when installing Windows 2000 or later under DOS, if you run smartdrv.exe first, the installation speed becomes much faster?

It's a disk cache program,,, it uses memory to cache the hard disk

If you install XP without loading the smartdrv.exe driver, I'm afraid you still won't finish after a whole day and night. Just get ready to admire the endless Copy!
