My God, they still want 50 yuan for it; it can be downloaded for free elsewhere. And MS-DOS 6.22 is definitely not the most “solid” DOS. I think MS-DOS 7.10 is much more stable.

What’s the difference between msdos8.0 and msdos7.1? How come that 8.0 one can’t use emm386.exe

Compared with 7.1, MS-DOS 8.0 added some features, such as support for large hard disks over 64M, etc. It should be able to use EMM386.

To use emm386, add the line device=c:\windows\emm386.exe in config.sys, and of course the file emm386.exe must exist.

It seems it won’t finish booting that way, so that’s why I changed to running it directly Also under 8.0, after running ccdos first, then mem, there will be a section of garbled text Also it seems you can’t add devide=..\himem.sys /testmemff in config.sys either 7.1 is still better

I thought 8.0 was much better than 7.1 I even specially got one from a classmate’s winme machine
