At about 7:00 this morning, I happened to notice two black dots in the middle of the sun. With a telescope (an ordinary kind), I could clearly see 4 groups of sunspots on the sun. Sunspots that can be seen directly with the naked eye should be very large, at least larger than the diameter of the Earth, I think.
This is the first time I've seen sunspots.

In the last few days the sun has entered a period of intense activity, and solar storms have come again. The Earth's magnetosphere is being disturbed, and what follows is interference with radio communications and a heavier load on the ground power grid. There have been two incidents here recently where transmission lines on the street caught fire, and even the substation was affected. I wonder whether this has anything to do with the recent solar storms!

I haven't heard of this kind of thing happening here, though maybe it could also be related to the condition of your local power facilities.

I think it's purely a technical problem, man-made!
