I'm not really a newbie anymore, but I'm still very confused about how to find the content I'm looking for.
For example, I want to find content about how DOS software can tell whether something is packed, what software was used to pack it, and how to unpack it. But if I use the keyword "unpack" in search, not a single record comes up. If I search only for "packer", there are only two records, and neither has anything to do with what I want to know.
The search range also can't be selected; I can only search in titles. That way, even if some posts contain content I'm interested in and want to know about, there's no way to find them.
So please teach me, how can I make use of the resources already on the forum?

That's because the search-content function was disabled in the forum source code. Just find a way to modify the source code a bit and it'll work.
