Hello everyone! I want to use DOS4GW to access extended memory, but I have no idea where to start, so I'd like to ask everyone for some documentation on this, so I can get it done!
Many thanks in advance |

If you're using Watcom C, you probably don't need any special calls to get DOS4GW to support protected mode. You only need to specify dos4g at compile time. If you use wcl386 directly, you don't need to declare anything at all.
And DOS4GW's memory access mode is the so-called flat mode, so you can access it directly with pointers. But it seems that in the Open Watcom newsgroup nowadays, more people are using dos32a. |

I'm not using Watcom C, I'm using TC++, is there any way?
Does anyone have Watcom C? I want a copy. Thanks! |

open watcom c 1.1, just go to www.openwatcom.org and download it, it's open source.
Under TC++ you still need support from a DPMI server. But I don't know the specific details. It seems Borland includes one, so you should take a good look at the help. |

The expert above, when I installed open watcom c/c++1.1 downloaded from www.openwatcom.org, my Rising antivirus said it found viruses. The files were pmodew.exe,pmwbind.exe,pmwlite.exe,pmwsetup.exe (4 files total). What's going on? I hope it's a false alarm.
