I am using the MS-DOS Super Boot Disk 2003-09-30 version
Using a CD to emulate 2.88MB or larger does not run properly. This is mainly because I am not very familiar with the operating mechanism of the free and open multi-system manager -- GNU GRUB. The source of the problem is GRUB. When using NERO or RAMNTDISK to emulate 2.88MB or 5MB or larger, the boot disk only shows STAGE 1 and does not show STAGE 2. Normally it should be STAGE1 and then STAGE2. I have already tested this in VMARE, Connectix Virtual PC, and on an actual CD-RW disc, with DAMON-TOOLS 3.41, and it cannot run on 2.88MB images.
1.44MB works normally. I don't know GNU GRUB's operating mechanism.
Additional note: if the original IMG does not move the original files, but is only forcibly converted to 2.88MB or 5MB, then when tested with a WIN98 boot disk, the 2.88MB 1.68MB 1.72MB 5.25MB virtual floppy passes the test.
GRUP???? -> IO.SYS -> MSDOS.SYS -> CONFIG.SYS -> COMMAND.COM -> AUTOEXEC.BAT.
There is also another problem, Boot with EMM386(NOEMS), NTFS and SCSI/USB drives support(if any)
Protected mode hangs very easily in a virtual machine!! Could it be because of WINXP DOS 8.0??
USB driver support is very limited. The vast majority of USB digital cameras cannot connect to its storage. Test machines were: FUJIFILM A301 64MB SM and BenQ H301 128 CF
My machine is: PII 400MHZ SD 256MB X1 WINDOWS XP HOME , GEFORCE 2 MX400 32MB
