The most fundamental way to solve this problem is to ask Microsoft or Novell to release a new DOS version of MSCLIENT or NetWare that supports long filenames under DOSLFN... However, for now, the long filename problem can be solved indirectly, that is, by using PKZIP/PKUNZIP, RAR/UNRAR, or ARJ/UNARJ, etc. that support long filenames to handle long filename transfer over the network.
