Compaq notebook N200 (both the CD-ROM and floppy are external). Since the 2000 kernel is damaged, I want to use the Super Boot Disk under DOS to make it recognize the USB CD-ROM drive. But after entering MS-DOS 7, selecting the third or fourth option won't boot. I don't know why. Please give me some advice, experts.

Which version of this boot disk are you referring to?

I'm using version 9.19 of the Super Boot Disk.
After selecting the third option, it says it found the LG CD-ROM, but then it becomes:
THE following file is missing or corrupted:ASPIUHCI.SYS
There is an error in your CONFIG.SYS file on line 50
THE following file is missing or corruptedi1000DD.SYS
There is an error in your CONFIG.SYS file on line 51
THE following file is missing or corrupted:USBCD.SYS
There is an error in your CONFIG.SYS file on line 52
and so on

In the end it stops at
A>
Then if I type any command, it no longer works.

Does the CONFIG。SYS file need to be modified?

I'm in a hurry to use the USB CD-ROM drive to reinstall 2000 (it's really a pain when everything on the notebook is external and broken)

Please help me, wengier

Are you using a floppy disk or a CD to boot this boot disk? If it's the former, then the floppy disk has a problem. If it's the latter, then it's caused by the effect of "reset."

My USB CD-ROM and floppy are both connected to the machine. The Super Boot Disk is in the floppy drive, and in the BIOS it's set to boot from the floppy drive. After booting from the floppy at startup and selecting the third option, first a dialog box pops up:
Delected USB Storage Device
LG GRN8421 USB-CDROM
PRESS ANY KEY TO.....
Then it jumps to:
THE following file is missing or corrupted:ASPIUHCI.SYS
There is an error in your CONFIG.SYS file on line 50
THE following file is missing or corruptedi1000DD.SYS
There is an error in your CONFIG.SYS file on line 51
THE following file is missing or corrupted:USBCD.SYS
There is an error in your CONFIG.SYS file on line 52
and so on

In the end it stops at
A>
and won't move anymore. Sigh~~~~~~ what a hassle, thanks for the trouble... please help think of a solution

I tried the Super Boot Disk on a desktop, and it can recognize that USB CD-ROM drive, but why doesn't it work on the notebook? To put it bluntly, right now I just want to reinstall 2000 onto the notebook, but at the moment it won't recognize the CD-ROM drive, and I can't get into 2000 either. Whether it's Safe Mode or Last Known Good Configuration, none of them will go in. Urgent~~~~~~~~~~

Let me ask again: is the floppy drive on that notebook computer a USB one?

Then no wonder. It's probably because when the USB driver loads, it "resets" the existing USB devices, which makes the USB floppy drive being used for booting unreadable, so that's why this happens. This could not happen with a normal floppy drive.

Load RAMFD before USBASPI.SYS, to prevent the USB floppy drive from being reset and becoming unreadable.

Then here's what I did: I added RAMFD before DEVICE. Is that right? After I did that, it can recognize that NTFS partition now. But it still won't recognize the USB CDROM.
What should I do?

One more question: if I compress files with WINRAR under WINDOWS, can they be extracted under DOS? How do I extract them?

Kind moderator, please help
