I just reinstalled my system. Right now I'm using Win2000 Professional to get online, with Rising Antivirus and Rising Personal Firewall installed, and I also updated the system through Windows Update. But as soon as I go online, before long the system reports that “svchost.exe” has encountered an error and must close, that is, the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service terminates unexpectedly, causing some important software to fail to run normally, such as Outlook, IE, Windows Media Player, and Control Panel. Note: it has already been confirmed that there is no virus in the system. What I'd like to ask everyone is, is there any good solution to this?
