Is the DOS after entering Windows what people call “Safe DOS”?
What’s the difference between it and DOS before entering Windows? |

What “Safe DOS”? A DOS window is not safe, and it isn’t very stable either.

Maybe the so-called “Safe DOS” means the DOS window mode of Win9x, but it isn’t truly safe.

Is the Safe DOS you mean the DOS from the sixth menu item when you press F8 during startup?

Then what are the differences among the sixth-item DOS, “Safe DOS”, a DOS window, and DOS? Does anyone understand this?

Then “Safe DOS” seems like it should really be called pure DOS. It does not load at all the programs set in CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT, uses only 640K memory, and loads only a few files such as IO.SYS,MSDOS.SYS,COMMAND. It is usually used for upgrading the BIOS, or when programs in CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT have such serious conflicts that startup becomes impossible.
A DOS window is a DOS environment virtualized internally by WINDOWS. Its support for DOS programs is not very good, and it can only support programs that conform very closely to DOS standards. |

By “Safe DOS,” does he mean “Safe mode DOS prompt”? If so, it just means it doesn’t load the usual drivers and TSR programs, but that still doesn’t necessarily make it safe.
