I'm a DOS newbie. I wanted to come here and look for some materials about DOS embedded operating systems, and also similar porting information.
But it seems there isn't much material here. Everyone seems to approach DOS with a play-for-fun mentality, and mostly based on the PC. Although the DOS era has passed, it still has high application value on the low-end side. DOS can run very nicely on many MCUs. Could the moderator post some related technical articles?

Being practical is indeed a very good attitude.

However, there are a few points that need correcting: we are players. We are proud to play with this stuff.
A lot of technology was originally developed through play—LINUX, BBS, even the PC itself were all played into existence at the beginning.

You are doing real work, and we can help you, and we're quite willing to. But we ourselves are not concerned with
embedded applications of this kind. After all, we don't have the machines or simulators around us to "play" with this kind of technology.

If you can't find materials about embedded applications, that's your problem. It's not because we sit here playing all day
and are therefore somehow "not doing proper work."

If you want materials on embedded DOS applications, going to professional English-language embedded DOS sites such as FREE-DOS will probably be faster. There is very little Chinese documentation. Many Chinese companies (possibly your company is one of them too) have successfully developed related systems, but they do not make the materials public, and instead sell the products at high prices (including several products based on FREE-DOS), so it's only natural that you can't find the materials.

Just like the scrolling subtitle above, China DOS Union promotes DOS and develops DOS.
Only by showing the value of DOS can that be achieved, right?
As for whether it's embedded or not,
that's just one direction of DOS development.
That doesn't really matter.
As long as it's about DOS,
the moderator should care about it, right?
Hope everyone has fun

Sigh, I'm also moving toward embedded systems, but for me too there's still more of a playing-around element. Once it comes to actual applications, it really gets quite difficult.

Well said, lemonhall. The idea is exactly to hone your skills while playing!
