Actually it's very simple:
First, change the extensions of the three DOS system files to IO.DOS, MSDOS.DOS, and COMMAND.DOS, then copy these three files to the root directory of drive C and set them to hidden, system, and read-only attributes; rename AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS under the DOS environment to AUTOEXEC.DOS and CONFIG.DOS respectively, and copy them to the root directory of drive C; in the root directory of drive C, rename the following five files of the WIN98 system to IO.W40, MSDOS.W40, COMMAND.W40, AUTOEXEC.W40, and CONFIG.W40 respectively, then use a text editing program to modify the MSDOS.W40 file according to the following example:
WinDir=C:\WINDOWS
; WINDOWS working directory
WinBootDir=C:\WINDOWS
; WINDOWS boot directory
HostWinBootDrv=C
; The drive the system boots WINDOWS from by default
Bootwarn=1
; Allow boot error warnings
BootDelay=3
; Extend the display of boot information by 3 seconds
BootKeys=1
; Allow using function keys to change the boot mode
BootMulti=1
; Allow multiple boot
BootMenu=1
; Display the boot menu
BootMenuDelay=30
; Menu delay is 30 seconds
BootMenuDefault=7
; The default menu selection is item 7
BootGUI=1
; Enter the graphical interface
BootWin=1
; Boot Windows
Network=0
; Network system not installed
LoadTop=0
; Do not load command.com into UMB
Logo=1
; Display bitmap
WinVer=4.10.2222
; Set the Windows version number
DoubleBuffer=1
; Set double buffer
AutoScan=1
; Set SCANDISK auto scan
