1. Usage:
Put this file in the root directory of C:\, then add a line after Boot.ini: C:\Bootsect.cdr="Boot from CD"

2. Function:
It scans once from drive A: to CDROM, trying to boot the system.

3. Note:
It cannot replace the CDROM function in the BIOS settings. If there is no option in the BIOS to boot from CDROM, startup will not succeed either.

It just calls the disk boot loader in the BIOS again, right?

If you want to replace the CD-ROM boot option in the BIOS settings, you should use BCDL and the like. You also just need to add the relevant item in BOOT.INI.

How do you use bcdl.bin to replace the CD-ROM boot option in the BIOS settings? Could the moderator explain how to use bcdl.bin? I saw it in the forum boot disk, and also on the CD, but I don't know how to use it; thanks

When I click CDROM boot, it instantly flashes back to the boot.ini menu, with nothing to choose, and then goes into my first item; under boot in the BIOS, the 1st is floopy, the 2nd hd, the 3rd is cdrom. When there is a problem with the hard disk, I have to first enter the BIOS and disable the hard disk before the cdrom can boot. I'd like to ask: is it because of this reason.

It's probably because it works by scanning.
