Ask about the placement of the LOGO.SYS for replacing the boot screen. I know that for Windows 98, it's placed under C:\. The logo of Win2000/XP is in one of the system files (I can't remember which one...) You can use Resource Hacker to replace it

It is said that the LOGO of Win2K/XP is in NTOSKRNL.EXE.
The LOGO of MS-DOS 7 is in IO.SYS or LOGO.SYS. If it is in IO.SYS, then it is compressed with DBLSPACE. I forcibly put the LOGO of DOS compressed by MS-DOS 6.0's DBLSPACE into IO.SYS yesterday, but the picture was not fully displayed when booting from the boot disk. It is observed that although the format of the LOGO compressed with DBLSPACE in IO.SYS is completely the same as that of the LOGO compressed with DBLSPACE in MS-DOS 6.0, there are slightly some differences. The LOGO in IO.SYS adopts segment check, while the DBLSPACE in MS-DOS 6.0 does not have segment check, so only the first segment of the LOGO is displayed, and the subsequent parts are not displayed.

If you want to modify these things under XP, you can take a look at this site: http://www.themexp.org. They call the boot screen "boot screen". The downloaded one is indeed the ntoskrnl.exe as W said, and there is also an ntoskrnlps.exe. There are many things that can be modified under XP, including the user login screen (login) and the window style (Visual Style). Here are a few related pictures:
