Where can I download Windows 95?
Thanks to DOS Home for building such a nostalgic and practical website for us.
Based on my own real-world use, for a lot of software, because of the ideas and level from many years ago, either the discs are damaged or the passwords have been lost (things back then were often stored separately; a friend of mine had a genuine copy of Win95 meet its end because of that). Older software simply can't be found on the market at all. Lately, several 486 or PI machines used purely as typewriters have been giving me trouble again and again. 16M memory is definitely a very old type that can't be bought now, and the hard drives are basically around 500–700Mb.
For machines like these, the hard truth to follow is that good enough is enough (because they really are only used for office typing). Although they can barely be made to run Win98, it really is like making a small horse pull a big cart; the hard drive noise is scary, and as for the speed, naturally it's "I'll wait till the flowers have withered." Office97 can be installed (UCDOS seems not very good visually for layout and tables), but what can I use to save you, my love?
