I downloaded the MS-DOS 7.10 ISO full installation CD. I burned it to a CDRW with NERO, and the installation succeeded, but when starting DOS it often fails, saying something about some CPU error. I don't know what's going on. Sometimes it can start successfully too, but I can hardly do anything, because most software now is based on WINDOWS, and when I start DOS games, either the screen gets garbled or it crashes. Really depressing. Hope some expert can give me some advice.
Also, if it really won't work, I want to uninstall DOS, but I don't know how to do it. I deleted it once before, but I don't know how to remove DOS 7.10 from the system selection screen, so that it will be like before and directly start my WINDOWS XP.
Still need some expert guidance

Could it be that during installation you didn't make the correct selections as prompted? Or that you installed some extra plug-ins that were completely unnecessary?

There is plenty of software under DOS, it's just not included in the DOS installation edition. To use various functions under DOS, please install the corresponding software, such as some Internet browsers, multimedia software, games, and so on.

It's very simple to remove DOS 7.10 from the system selection screen: open c:\boot.ini and delete the DOS 7.10 line

Somehow somewhere I've got to choose.
No matter if it is win or lose.

First, thanks to you two, but I didn't install any DOS plug-ins at all, I only installed DOS, but it keeps crashing

There were problems indeed. During installation didn't it ask you to choose the sound card and such, and then the installation options after that seemed to keep appearing over and over

It wasn't "appearing over and over," was it? It's more that there are a lot of things you can choose to install. If you don't want to install them, just skip them all at the start in one go.

I also ran into this problem when using the downloaded image to boot in Virtual PC, saying some CPU error or something??
After that I didn't burn it.
