Experts, all you heroes, does anyone know if there is any software for viewing Chinese long filenames on NTFS under DOS mode?
My computer has XP installed, and it's dead, but all the partitions are NTFS, and there are Chinese files and folders inside. Please save me!!!
This newbie thanks you in advance

It seems ntfspro doesn't support Chinese. You can try booting some manager like vc or dn and see whether it can access them; it should still be possible.

Just use the admin's 7.1 boot disk and it'll be fine. Also, why insist on real mode? Your machine can already run XP!

There's another way:
(on the condition that you didn't put a password or protection on the folder or anything like that)
If you split it into two partitions, then format one partition with MP, and then install another XP on it (FAT32 is fine).
If you don't have two partitions, then you'll have to use MP to adjust the primary partition, free up about 2G of hard disk space, and install XP there.

(But the best method is still to use XP's repair install. Could it be that your machine can't boot from CD????? Same as mine???)
