After seeing the post's guide screenshots, I feel puzzled.
It subverts the knowledge from the former textbooks: When powering on for a cold start, the boot program is very simple, unable to do major tasks (just performs a self-check and points to DOS). After DOS is booted, it then manages memory, printers, hard disks, mice. To use these devices before booting DOS is impossible. Then Chinese character systems are loaded.

In the post, before booting DOS, Chinese characters are already used, the mouse is already used, and DOS can be booted using an ISO image. All these have subverted the theories of the DOS era.

I feel that so far, perhaps all the Chinese characters on computers are decorative extensions based on English, and it's not that Chinese characters are playing a role.
Before the practical implementation of Chinese character computer languages, Chinese character programming, and Chinese characters as hardware languages, Chinese characters may not have had that function.

This involves the choice of cognitive standards. Is localization a work based on Chinese culture as the origin? Is the long-term continuation of localization following or independent?
(Hail to the historical localization heroes and predecessors, but history is the need for renewal, which is a good thing, and all the efforts are part of the whole road)

Because I am an outsider and don't understand technology, so if what I said about Chinese characters being based on hardware is concerned, logically it's difficult.
The bootloader belongs to a special English hardware program and usually doesn't serve Chinese characters. In an environment where there are no Chinese character computers, there is no commercial service interest guidance, so it's estimated that it's not Chinese characters playing a role.
Generally, the Chinese characters in GRUB and other things are in the program, adding remarks, comments, descriptive content, etc., and Chinese characters are displayed in a non-programmatic form, not as executable ones. This is how I understand the Chinese characters in current computers.
Being able to display Chinese characters during the boot stage is also a functional progress. Compared with the stage when Chinese characters couldn't be displayed, it's a feat.

Of course, I would rather that it's the dot matrix level that makes up English letters, and Chinese characters composed in a dot matrix rule can run Chinese character computer commands.

There is also one situation: my current known understanding may just be an impression chat statement without knowing the actual situation. The actual use and role of Chinese characters may be very large.
