I originally did DOS programming too, but later, because of making a living, I switched to WEB programming. After going around in circles, I still can't let go of DOS programming.
I've always felt that in WEB programming, the computer controls you. Even the sense of achievement from developing a very powerful program can't compare to the sense of achievement from spending a huge amount of time controlling certain functions of the computer yourself. |
