I haven't tested its compatibility, but every CD-ROM drive I've used could be driven by it. I use this thing when the boot disk starts up and I choose No CDROM Support, but later if I need to use the CD, I don't have to reboot the system. I can just run CDROM.COM in that CDROM directory to load the CD-ROM drive directly (no need to add Device=VIDE-CDD.SYS in Config.sys).

Can't VIDE-CDD.SYS also be loaded directly from the DOS command line? For example:
C:\> DEVICE VIDE-CDD.SYS /D:xxx
C:\> DEVLOAD VIDE-CDD.SYS /D:xxx
C:\> CTLOAD VIDE-CDD.SYS /D:xxx
and so on..
C:\> DEVICE VIDE-CDD.SYS /D:xxx
C:\> DEVLOAD VIDE-CDD.SYS /D:xxx
C:\> CTLOAD VIDE-CDD.SYS /D:xxx
and so on..

So that's it, this file also has a CPAV encryption shell, so I used x-tract to strip it off...
Then I saw It may be dangerous to continue running this session.

It was packed twice, so I guess it at least put some thought into it.
I suggest that next time after unpacking, just use STRINGS。EXE to display those words directly, that way you'll look more like a professional HACKER,
