I use MS-DOS 7.1 to start Win95.97 and a registry error appears. It tells me to reboot or reinstall.
Windows cannot restore your registry. There may be a disk error, or the registry backup is invalid. Please use a utility like Scandisk to check the hardware, then reinstall Windows. If you do not want to reinstall and continue with the next action, data will be lost. Shut down Windows immediately(s) |

Use the win/d:m command to enter Safe Mode and have a look.

When using that MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk to start Win9x, note one thing: first enter the folder where WIN is located, then type the WIN command, for example:
D: CD WIN97 WIN Do not directly enter D:\WIN97\WIN. Because this is universal, you must first enter the folder where Win9x is located. This is already explained in the README.TXT of the latest DOS boot disk. If you want to type it directly, please modify the winbootdir setting in C:\MSDOS.SYS. |

This is Win95's own BUG, I already replied by email.
Let me say it again, there is no such thing as "Win95.97" at all, that version simply does not exist!! |

1. How do I use the repair program? 2. How do I use UNRAR & RAR for compression under DOS? How do I create archives? Self-extracting archives? (I want the complete commands + tutorial) Thanks |
