These days have been very uncomfortable, mainly because of reading novels with UCDOS.

It's acceptable that BIG5 traditional Chinese is not supported, but it's regrettable that simplified Chinese is not fully supported. Only then did I find out it's a problem with GBK. I heard about CCDOS97, which solves the previous problem but not the latter; I just also learned about AW97, but when I saw everyone cursing a lot, I couldn't say much.

Now, I earnestly hope that everyone can make a Chinese DOS that supports large character sets, either improving or innovating. If it's really not possible, just post AW97 again to relieve the urgent need of brothers.

Oh, technically it's possible. But the size of the GBK font library is really........... And to support GBK, you need to support UTF-8. Currently only ALLOGE has achieved it. Implementing GBK under pure DOS is too difficult.

Does DOS have a GBK Chinese character system? AW97 supports GBK Chinese characters, just that not many people know about it.

AW97 is actually quite good. It supports GBK Chinese characters under DOS, and has good memory usage and compatibility. The only shortcoming is that it only supports input methods like Pinyin and Biaoxing Code, but not Wubi (Wangbi) input method. But for most people, I think it's sufficient.

Where can I find AW97? It sounds like it's pretty good, but it seems hard to find.
