As for SMARTDRV, I have never recommended compressing it, whether with aPack or LZEXE, because compatibility will drop after compression (for example, compatibility with Win3.x).

I made a Ghost disk and planned to add an edit, but found that edit actually takes about 70K, which is really a luxury on a floppy disk, and after compressing it it can't be used, so in the end I had no choice but to compress smartdrv. Fortunately this disk is mainly for Ghost use, so it's more or less enough. I found a mini edit.com online, but can't download it. wengier, do you have it? It only takes about 40K. If I make it into a cab, I'll also have to add extract, 48k, and xmdsk, 11k, and I'm afraid I still won't save that little bit of space. Ghost is what mainly takes up a lot of space, and it's already compressed.

Another problem is my crappy motherboard: when I use the LH command to load doslfn, it won't load, and I don't know why, but if I remove lh then it works.

For EDIT and SMARTDRV, I recommend compressing them with ACE or CAB; that way they will definitely work after being extracted. I also have a directly compressed EDIT, but it still isn't as small as CAB- or ACE-compressed ones.

Except for edit, which isn't compressed, everything else is compressed. I tried it, and to make compression work I have to add extract and smdsk, and to add those two files I need to compress as much as 1M of data. Even if I split it into several cab files, it's still a pain. wengier, can you upload that directly compressed edit you have?

I also tried jssyq's one, about 15K, very small, but unfortunately I'm not used to its key function definitions. Still, if there's really no other way, it can be tried. Anyway, it's better than nothing.
