I just got an IBM TransNote laptop. The floppy drive and CD-ROM drive are both external, so I got a USB floppy drive and a PC Card CD-ROM drive for it, and then I also upgraded the hard disk. Now I want to first install DOS, then install Windows XP. I downloaded DOS 6.22 and 7.10 from the Internet, and after extracting them they are all IMG files. How do I turn them into floppy installation disks? Boot from the floppy, then install DOS from the floppy? I don't know how to use IMG files! I'm not familiar with DOS, experts please help!!!

The floppy drive can boot! I had originally kept a set of DOS 6.22 installation floppies, but when I tried them today I found out they were the DOS 6.22 upgrade edition. Depressing

It's not that complicated, is it! You just need to first put the “MS-DOS 7.10 installation floppy” (note: not that “Super MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk”) into the floppy drive, then boot with it, and it will automatically install MS-DOS 7.10 onto the hard disk according to the prompts. There's absolutely no need to manually modify any config files.

Under XP, using hdcopy's get from file (I don't have a pure DOS environment), after specifying the IMG file, it just stops there. Why? I struggled with it all night and still didn't succeed . Could you send me 3 zip packages, each package being one floppy disk? Thank you very much, I've been messing with this machine for almost a week! How embarrassing!
