Bad Disk Partitioner FBDISK 1.0
Bad Disk Partitioner is now renamed FBDISK (Fixed Bad Disk). It is a program for partitioning hard disks that have bad tracks. It can automatically repartition a hard disk with bad tracks, set the bad tracks as hidden partitions, and the good tracks as usable partitions; separating the bad tracks to prevent them from spreading. But if the bad tracks are too scattered, it will produce many scattered usable partitions; limited by partitioning rules, only 4 primary partitions can be set, so the program will choose the largest four partitions as usable, and set the others as hidden.

The following improvements have been made in version 1.0:
1. Added handling capability for hard disks larger than 8G; it can handle hard disks under 500G.
2. All partitions are set to FAT32, in order to support partitions larger than 2G.
3. Added remaining time display.

This program contains two files: fbdisk.exe and readme.txt.

Usage:
This program only processes physical hard disk 1. First make a boot disk (Win97, Win98, WinMe are all fine), and copy this program onto it; boot the computer with the boot disk to enter DOS mode. Run this program, it will first display the hard disk parameters, and ask whether you want to scan the hard disk: Start scan hard disk ?(Y/N). After pressing Y it will begin scanning, and display the progress and remaining time. This remaining time is only an estimate; at the beginning it may be inaccurate and unstable, but when progress passes 10% it will stabilize, and the time will be fairly accurate. When it encounters bad tracks it will display their location. After the hard disk scan is complete, the program will give partitioning suggestions, and ask whether you want to write them to the hard disk: Write to disk ?(Y/N). Up to this point, the program has not written any data to the hard disk. At this time, just press Y, and it will write to the hard disk, and display Write disk OK! indicating the write was successful and partitioning is complete. After partitioning is complete, reboot with this boot disk and then you can format the hard disk.

Notes:
Please use this program carefully; it will cause irrecoverable damage to hard disk data. I take no responsibility for any loss caused by using this software.
