One hard disk was split into two partitions, C: and D:. After repairing with Efficiency Source, D: is missing! C: can still be read and written normally. Using PQ, D: now shows up as free space. What can be done to recover the lost D:? (No partition table backup)
Also, if the hard disk is repartitioned, is there any way to restore it to the original partition layout? |

If you repartition it, even the data on drive C: will be lost too. Better use DISKGEN instead; it has a function for rewriting the partition table. I once tried it on a hard disk that PQ already showed as completely hopeless, and DISKGEN actually restored all 4 of its partitions perfectly. My friend was so happy he jumped up!

These programs each have their own strengths, I guess. PQ, DiskGen, Efficiency Source, and so on all seem to have cases where they are not suitable...
It would be nice if there were one that was "general-purpose" and "universal". |

What is the principle behind DISKGEN's partition table rewrite?
It isn't just a feature where it remembers the partition information from the last time the hard disk was opened, is it? |
