I just changed the CPU from a Celeron 1.7G to a P4 1.7G, and as soon as I boot up this thing below appears. I have to press F1 before I can continue. What does this mean? How should I fix it?

Warning!cpu has been changed.
Please re-enter CPU settings in the CMOS setup and remember to sare before quirt!

Press F1 to continue,DEL to enter SETUP/Q-Flash.

It says your CPU has changed, so go into CMOS and set it again. Before exiting CMOS, remember to save.

That should be what it means. Try going into CMOS.

Adjust the external frequency and multiplier in CMOS.

It seems like you only need to let it detect it once and choose the default settings, most computers can figure it out by themselves.

yes, but this isn't something that appears “in DOS” — it's a prompt that appears before entering the operating system
