Install the pure DOS patch for WINME to make it enter pure MS-DOS 8.0.

Wengier's method is quite simple. If the thing you want to test doesn't require settings and drivers for the sound card, graphics card, etc., you can directly boot with the WIN98 startup disk to get a temporary pure DOS environment.
