I’m making a GHOST boot disk for automatic restore from CD. I’ve already added the restore option to the boot disk menu, but when it performs the restore it still can’t automatically find the CD-ROM drive letter. src=(the main problem is this CD-ROM drive letter issue)z:\SETUP_98.GHO

I also thought about using the mapped drive method, but it still comes back to that CD-ROM drive letter problem. I don’t know how to make it detect it at startup and then map it.
subst z: %cdrom%:\
It seems like the above line won’t work, right? Everyone, please help me out and teach me~~ Thanks~~!

Use a small program called findcd. It can automatically assign the CD drive letter to the environment variable %cdrom%. After that, under DOS, %cdrom% can stand for the CD drive letter.

hhhhhh

A lot of DOS boot disks can find the CD-ROM drive letter, just try a few more. I drank too much today and casually registered an account to reply to you. If there’s any problem, please forgive me.

Just download any CD-based Ghost restore one from the internet, extract the autoexec.bat from it, modify the path and filename, then pack it back into an iso. It’s best to test it in a virtual machine first, and that should be about enough.
