USB flash drive: Patriot Mini King 64M (supports USB_ZIP, USB_HDD booting) Currently, the USB flash drive is formatted in USB_ZIP format.
MP3: Patriot H08 type 128M (no driver installation required for WINME and above systems, can be used as a USB flash drive, does not support booting)
Test machine: HP_VL400 (815EP chipset)

When driving the USB flash drive, the system can detect the USB flash drive and recognize it as drive D with 64M.

Question 1: When USBASPI.SYS does not carry the /R parameter, the USB flash drive can be driven and found, but it cannot be accessed normally. The error prompt is as follows:
invalid disk change reading drive D
Please insert volume NO NAME serial 8B1F-0E1E
Abort,Retry,Fail?

What does the /R parameter represent? Are there any other parameters? Please inform them one by one!

Question 2: When USBASPI.SYS carries the /R parameter (the USB flash drive can be recognized and used normally), the following driver programs will cause a system crash when running, listed as follows:
DEVICE=A:\DRIVE\IBMUSBCD.SYS /D:IBMUSBCD
DEVICE=A:\DRIVE\ASPIOHCI.SYS
DEVICE=A:\DRIVE\ASPIUHCI.SYS
DEVICE=A:\DRIVE\ASPIEHCI.SYS

Question 3: When driving the MP3, it cannot be recognized and driven normally~~ I don't know why?

The following configuration information can drive the USB flash drive normally (no system crash) but cannot drive the MP3.
DEVICE=A:\DRIVE\DUSE49.EXE
DEVICE=A:\RAMFD.EXE
DEVICE=A:\DRIVE\USBASPI.SYS /R
DEVICE=A:\DRIVE\DI1000DD.SYS
DEVICE=A:\DRIVE\USBCD.SYS /D:USB-CD

USB drivers are relatively complicated. You can try using DUSE.

The MP3 player that drives USB has the most experience in KO, so let him be the main speaker.

The /R parameter originally meant USB floppy drive, but it can boot more USB - supported ones.

It seems that driving the USB flash drive under DOS is still a technical threshold. After all, in the DOS era, the USB flash drive hadn't appeared. Even in WIN98, drivers were needed. And currently, USB flash drive manufacturers on the market simply don't want to develop the USB flash drive drivers under DOS. Using general software drivers, more or less some compatibility problems will be encountered. Still hope that great experts can give more guidance to the person in dream!
