Today it suddenly wouldn't boot. After powering on, the system information appears, and then it just stops there. It won't get into the partition table, and it can't run either. My laptop has two Chinese XP systems installed. The CD was borrowed from someone else, and it's not with me right now. I only have the English WINME.
Help, please. I need this computer every day. I just got to the US, with no one to rely on. Experts, please help.

What does “can't get into the partition table” mean? Under normal operation there is no option to “get into the partition table.”
“Installed two Chinese XP systems” is also hard to understand what you mean.

Judging from the fault symptoms you described above, there are two possible causes, software and hardware: 1. On the hardware side, check whether the hard disk data cable is loose or has poor contact, causing the hard disk not to be detected. 2. On the software side: a. virus b. hard disk master boot record and DOS boot information damaged or lost.

You can use DISKGEN to do automatic partition table recovery and rewrite the hard disk master boot information. If rewriting succeeds, the computer should be able to boot, but if your winxp still cannot boot at that point, then you will have to restore your original DOS boot information.

The problem is, after powering on it checks the system configuration, and then the machine stops. It also can't get into the partition table. That is to say, the hard disk can't run, and I also can't choose to boot from the floppy drive or the CD-ROM drive.

My hard disk is divided into 3 partitions. Two are system partitions.

When you power on and enter the BIOS setup program, can it automatically detect the hard disk?

I can't get into the BIOS. After powering on, I can't do any operations at all.

Usually laptops don't use the DEL key to enter the BIOS. Check exactly what is shown on the screen.

That doesn't work. Mine uses F2 to enter the BIOS. But after I press it, the computer just stops and dies there. I can't do anything.

Could it be infected with CIH? From your symptoms, this looks like a serious hardware problem. It may be that there's something wrong with the BIOS chip, causing the system to fail to boot. You should take it to a professional repair shop.
